It would be my pleasure to share Prairie Paradise Retreat Day Spa - B&B with you!

Welcome, my name is Jana Wise, I live on 160 acres of rolling hills and natural bushland in the Central Region.
The natural beauty and atmosphere of the property is breathtaking, making it easy to relax and rejuvenate.


Walk the 2 kilometre bush trail and experience some neat highlights along the way.... watch for some wildlife, interesting birds, native plants and mushrooms! Hug a tree.... take a deep breath..... close your eyes and think of times gone by..... who has walked here before me? what has that tree seen in it's life?


At the yard you will find a park like setting in the back with a fire pit and rustic bar with beer kegs to sit on! Outdoor speakers provide easy listening of music, which can be heard at the Bonfire area or on the large deck surrounding the 16' x 32' pool. Enjoy the warm sun as you swim in the pool and lounge on the deck on a nice summer day.
 

A 34' camper parked just down from the house has its own private site, equipped with a fire pit and everything you need to camp...... come and try before you purchase your own!
 

On the hill just a short jaunt away is a 20 ft tipi, which has become the highlight of the summer stay! Many evenings are spent around the fire in the centre of the tipi and by design, the mosquitoes seem to stay away! The atmosphere is calming and has the sense of protection once described to me by a native friend as " like a mothers womb". Some people choose to sleep in the tipi, others like the experience of cooking bannock over the open fire and have local jams and jelly with it! At the tipi hill, the stars are bright and easy to see as the lights from the house are just far enough away not to hinder the beauty of the aurora borealis. The tipi is usually up from June to October and even in the wind and rain it provides a unique experience.


A 20' by 24' rustic one room cabin and an outhouse with wash stand and an outdoor shower is located midway the walking trail. It's a neat little escape for day or night use, and is available all year round. A horse shoe pit and fire cooking pit are also there for outdoor fun.


 

At this point you have learned a lot about the outdoors! Don't let this natural and rustic picture cloud you to some of the wonderful in house amenities I have!

The house was once a hired mans house and in 1964 was moved onto a new foundation where it is now. In keeping with the natural surroundings I have always kept the more rustic look to the house. In 2000 an addition was built on and in 2014 it was redone as a spa and massage area. A bed and breakfast stay or Retreat Package always provides an alternative for bad weather situations...... not nice out, well lets do a spa day!


There are 2 rooms with queen beds, extra blankets and pillows, towels and face cloths, reading lights and a chair. The common area has a TV and sitting area, eating area, access to coffee/tea, water and snacks at all times.


The Navajo suite is in the lower level and provides a more private area to stay, and is adjacent to the washroom which is typically for private use. The suite can accommodate up to 4 people.
 

There are two washrooms, one on the main floor and one on the lower level. Both have commercial grade grab bars, and the tub on the main level has a mobility friendly bath bench available. The 3' by 6' shower in the lower level has three independent shower heads for hot/cold contrast therapy
